Managing your account

Keep your Anonymous You account secure and up to date. Learn how to change your details, manage sessions, adjust privacy, and deactivate your account.

Account info

  • Username & Display name: Update from Settings → Profile. Usernames are unique; display names can include spaces and emojis.
  • Email address: Manage from Settings → Account. Keep it current for password resets and security alerts.
  • Phone number: Optional. Add or update in Settings → Account for additional recovery options.
  • Bio and images: Edit your bio, profile photo, and cover image in Settings → Profile.

Login & security

  • Change password: Go to Settings → Security. Choose a strong, unique password.
  • Reset password: Use the “Forgot password?” option on Login if you can’t sign in.
  • Two‑factor authentication: Support planned. When available, you’ll find it in Settings → Security.
  • Recognized devices: Review active sessions below and sign out of devices you don’t recognize.

Privacy controls

  • Profile visibility: Manage who can view your posts and profile details in Settings → Privacy.
  • Messaging: Control who can send you DMs in Settings → Privacy.
  • Muted & blocked: See and manage your muted/blocked accounts in Settings → Privacy.

Notifications

Adjust which alerts you receive for likes, follows, mentions, replies, and messages in Settings → Notifications.

Sessions & devices

  • Active sessions: If available in your build, view sessions and sign out remotely from Settings → Security.
  • Public devices: Always log out after using a shared device and don’t save passwords in browsers you don’t control.

Deactivation & deletion

  • Deactivate account: Temporarily hide your profile and posts. You can reactivate by signing back in. Access from Settings → Account.
  • Delete account: Permanently removes your account and content after a grace period. This may require support verification.
  • What others see: Some content may remain in other users’ quotes, reposts, or logs as permitted by our Terms.

Your data

  • Download your data: Coming soon. You will be able to request an archive of your account data.
  • Ads preferences: We currently do not expose per‑interest controls; future versions may include this under Settings → Privacy.
